Meet Philip Loughlin, a member of our Olmsted 200 Honorary Committee!

Phil Loughlin
Professor Emeritus, Maryville University; Trustee Emeritus, Phillips Exeter Academy; Advisory Council, National Association for Olmsted Parks

Phil Loughlin’s connection to Olmsted began in the 1950s with the Swasey Parkway in Exeter, NH, where he would go to escape from the stresses of school as a boy. In his opinion, Olmsted’s greatest contribution to society relates to the psychological impacts of landscapes. He believes that these green spaces offer a tranquility that’s essential for leading a happy and healthy life.

His service to Olmsted 200 honors his late wife, Caroline Keller Loughlin, who was a valued trustee, officer, and long-time supporter of the National Association for Olmsted Parks.
