The Friends of Maryland’s Olmsted Parks & Landscapes (FMOPL) invites you to join us for a presentation by The Cultural Landscape Foundation President & CEO, Charles Birnbaum on “The Olmsted in All of Us.” FMOPL will also highlight exciting recent advancements in our archival work.

As we celebrate the 200th anniversary of Frederick Law Olmsted’s birth, what is the true legacy of Olmsted’s career as a designer, planner, educator, reformer, advocate, activist, inventor, innovator, and influencer for today’s society? Diving deep into the meaning of the Olmsted renaissance, Birnbaum’s lecture will include a call to action for the next generation of research and practice, recognizing that the deeper they go, the more relevant Olmsted’s legacy becomes.

Charles A. Birnbaum, FASLA, FAAR, is President & CEO of The Cultural Landscape Foundation (TCLF). Prior to creating TCLF, he spent fifteen years as Coordinator, National Park Service Historic Landscape Initiative, and a decade in private practice in NYC with a focus on cultural landscapes and urban design.

We’re excited to offer LA CES credits for this presentation. Please indicate through Eventbrite registration your interest in receiving these credits. We also have a limited number of event ticket scholarships available for current students. Please email Jennifer@pattersonpark.com with your request.
