Both Frederick Law Olmsted and his son, Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., played a significant role in the establishment and creation of the national parks. This day-long panel discussion will feature a lively array of panel discussions looking at the Olmsted conservation legacy and current challenges facing national parks.

The Library will display select items from its Special Collections related to the Olmsteds and the Conservation movement, including manuscripts, photographs, maps, and other materials, as well as a video display of the digital presentation sites for the Frederick Law Olmsted Papers and the Olmsted Associates Records, available to the public and scholars through Library of Congress online resources.
