To honor the Olmsted Bicentennial, the National Association for Olmsted Parks (NAOP), is sponsoring a carillon composition competition, Inspired by Olmsted. Carillonneurs around the world are encouraged to compose and then play compositions, inspired by Olmsted, throughout the 2022 anniversary year — especially at institutions with prominent Olmsted designs.

The Carillonneurs Guild of North America will convene in Olmsted’s Jackson Park for its annual Congress, inviting friends to join them for the Midwestern Debut of these special bicentennial compositions and other pieces. University of Chicago Carillonneur Joey Brink and other carillonneurs will play during this three-day festival adjoining the Midway Plaisance.

You can find additional carillon festival venues and times on this website’s calendar of events.
