On Sunday, October 24 from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM, Planting Fields Foundation will host its first 5K Walk/Run and Kids Fun Run. Held at Planting Fields, a 409-acre Gold Coast estate designed by the Olmsted Brothers firm, and inspired by Olmsted’s belief in parks as spaces to foster physical and mental health and promote community, the event will feature three distinct waves: a 5K Run, 5K Walk, and a half-mile Kids Fun Run. People of all skill levels are encouraged to participate! All proceeds from the entry fee will go to raise awareness and funds for Planting Fields’s ongoing landscape preservation efforts.

The run route travels through the beautiful grounds of the Planting Fields Arboretum State Historic Park and woodland trails and out to the historic Carshalton gates. The walk route is a wonderful inclusive option for people of all abilities. Walk at any pace and enjoy the beauty of the site and the tranquility it offers. Water and snacks will be provided courtesy of Stop and Shop. Everyone who signs up will receive a personalized bib and finisher medal. The post-event festival will feature various lawn games and prizes, music, and activities for all guests.
